As the demand for “green” products grow, manufacturers scramble to come up with new ideas and products. While other companies innovate from the inside out.  3form has created a corporate culture that is grounded on the ideas of environmental sustainability as well as social sustainability.  Working with artisans in countries like Mali, Swaziland and South Africa 3form is manufacturing products that are good and good for you (and the rest of the world).

Couldn’t afford to book tickets to Paris for Lance’s comeback?  Or maybe you perfer sitting at the bar with your buddies watching the Tour on a big screen.  Either way, if you’re into cycling then Bike Furniture has the goods.   The Astana rider and Native Texan who looks like he just might have one more good ol’ fashion butt whuppin’ left in him, uses the bar stools at the Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop coffee bar.  Bike Furniture Design founder Andy Gregg reuses bike parts as well as glass from trains and seatbelt webbing to build his unique furniture.  If it’s good enough for Lance…

Re-use

B-52 Ejection Chair

The recycle/reuse movement continues to drive innovation in design, and furniture is no exception.  One company, MotoArt has been reusing aircraft parts to build some of the most unique furniture in the buisness for over ten years.  Thier B-52 Ejection Chair is one of my favorite examples of reuse.

Hey-yo!

‘Cause things are really blowing-up around here and because some have been requesting it (but mainly because it’s so dang hot in the shop right now) I’m bloggin’.  There’s still a lot of work to do on this thing so expect changes.  In the next few weeks, I’ll add some images, links and maybe some video.  So, stick around.
